An emergency situations regime has been introduced in the Irkutsk Region ( Eastern Siberia) in connection with the spread of locusts and garden webworms there. In some places the pest density is as high as 200 per square km with the safety margin at 7. According to expert forecasts, the pests may damage over 100,000 hectares of arable land.
