Four crewmen and four passengers injured in Mi-8's crash

According to new data, there were four crewmen and four passengers on board the Mi-8 helicopter, which performed an emergency landing in the Leningrad region. All of them were injured, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported. The helicopter landed in a forest. The aircraft's airframe was seriously damaged.

According to the aircraft captain, the helicopter started an uncontrolled leftward spin at a 200-metre altitude at a speed of 80 kmph, which forced the crew to perform an emergency landing.

The helicopter belonging to the Vzlyot scientific and production corporation was bound from the Siversky village /the Leningrad region/ to Petrozavodsk /Karelia/ to examine power transmission lines.
