Nizhny Novgorod region governor visits summer school of public modeling

On July 12, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev visited theme youth camp "Summer School of Public Modeling "Vzlyot-2012." The head of the region got acquainted with the structure of the camp, presented an award - Eagle Cup - to the winner of the raft race and took part in the meeting of the Council of Rectors of high schools of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

"Summer School of Public Modeling "Vzlyot 2012"" has recently started working in the Chkalovsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The youth camp is a key element of the project "Mininsky Call," which the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region has been conducting since 2008 in partnership with the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin Foundation, the Council of Rectors of Nizhny Novgorod high schools and the Nizhny Novgorod diocese.

Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Sergei Potapov said that the summer school of public modeling "Vzlyot" in the Nizhny Novgorod region has been arranged for the fifth year. In 2012, the school entered the inter-regional level for the first time. More than 350 students from Moscow, Vladimir, Yaroslavl and Nizhny Novgorod take part in the work of the summer school.

"As many as 1,400 people have passed through the school. Young people receive new knowledge on the history of their country, meet new friends, and obtain useful experience, which may come in handy for them in the future," said Sergei Potapov. The chairman of the Committee on Social Affairs Artem Kavinov added: "The camp provides civil-patriotic education, which, unfortunately, is sometimes not enough for the current young generation. The programs that we implement fill the gap."

Summer School program "Vzlyot 2012" was developed to obtain practical skills to implement the projects that increase the role of national historical and cultural heritage in the modern society. The key theme of the Summer School is the preparation to celebrations of the 400th anniversary of the Nizhny Novgorod militia, to be held November 4, 2012.

On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, its thirty articles enshrining basic and fundamental rights guaranteeing dignity of the human person and equality for all, regardless of race, color, creed or gender. A pipe dream?
