Elections of governor of Kransoyarsk territory to be held on September 8

The elections of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory will take place on September 8. Such a decision was taken on Monday by a session of the Legislative Assembly of the Territory. The necessity of holding elections is caused by the death of governor Alexander Lebed in the air crash on April 28. Acting governor of the Territory Nikolai Ashlapov has already publicly stated his intention not to contend for the post of governor. Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Territory Alexander Uss has announced his intention to run for election. The local analysts believe that mayor of Krasnoyarsk Pyotr Pimashkov and Taimyr governor Alexander Khloponin will certainly figure among the contenders. But, in their opinion, the list of the contestants for the post of governor will not be confined to these names.
