The deputies of the Ukrainian parliament voted to dismiss the vice-speaker of the parliament, Viktor Medvedchuk, from his position. The issue was considered on the request of five parliamentary factions in connection with the fact that Medvedchuk violated the requirements of the regulations. Two-hundred-thirty-four deputies voted to dismiss Medvedchuk out of 396 deputies present. When Medvedchuk learned results of the voting, he left the hall.
According to the decree, Medvedchuk repeatedly violated the norms of the regulations of the Ukrainian parliament and had significant drawbacks when organizing and holding the plenary sessions of the parliament, sometimes ignoring other people’s opinions at that. The first vice-speaker stated before the voting that he would never make any excuses for what he did.
