Putin's official spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the viral game Pokemon Go, as there are people, who intend to play this game in the Moscow Kremlin.
"There are many attention-worthy places of interest other than Pokemons in our capital," Peskov said.
"The Pokemons are not a reason to attend such a treasure of world culture as the Moscow Kremlin. Further, the Kremlin is unprecedentedly open, despite the fact that this is the residence of the head of state," the president's press secretary said.
Pokemon Go is not available in Russia yet, but its appearance in the country should be regarded as a significant event.
Recently, there were excavation works conducted in the Kremlin and a new park was built. "The Kremlin has become even more beautiful, but most importantly, it has made it even more open to our citizens and visitors," said Peskov.
There new park appeared in the Kremlin in early May. The new landscaped area covers an area of 1.6 hectares.
Pokemon GO is a project designed as an augmented reality game for smartphones and tablets. Players need to look for Pokémons through a phone camera and shoot them.
The game has received more than 15 million downloads and has more than 20 million active users a day. These numbers exceed all the records of the games that were hugely popular in the previous years - Candy Crush, Draw Something and Clash Royale. Pokemon Go brings its developers $1.6 million per day.
The game is expected to be released in Russia in the next few days.
