Airbus to exhibit models of new Aeroflot planes at Moscow Aviation Exhibition on August 19

Transnational airplane builder Airbus will exhibit models of its A320 and A310 airplanes in the Russian airline company Aeroflot colors at MAKS-2003 on August 19 in Zhukovsk outside of Moscow. It will also exhibit models of all 15 airliners in the Airbus family of airplanes, according to the Moscow office of Airbus. Moreover, on August 19 an A320 used by Armavia airlines will be exhibited in a special demonstration area over the entire day.

At the present time 20 airplanes produced by including 16 A310 airplanes and 4 A320 airplanes are used by six different airlines across the CIS. Moreover, in October 2002 Airbus concluded a deal with Aeroflot-Russian Airlines for the delivery of 18 airplanes. According to terms of the deal, Aeroflot will pay for eight of the airplanes from its own resources, and will lease an additional 10 airplanes. It is planned that Aeroflot will receive its first Airbus airplane this fall.

Airbus Industries has construction and production centers in France, Germany, Great Britain and Spain. It also has subsidiaries in the US, China and Japan. The company produces airplanes for 180 airlines throughout the world and has emerged as the chief competitor of US airplane builder Boeing. Airbus total trade turnover in 2002 was valued at approximately USD 22 billion.
