Sergey Borisov: Zhirinovsky turns pro-Western

Vladimir Zhirinovsky is changing his political orientation, and this change is a rather fundamental one. Therefore, noone is going to frighten the West with Russian missiles, and noone is going to remind the Western countries about the Soviet threat anymore. The new doctrine of the Liberal Democratic Part of Russia (LDPR) is taking a big turn. Now Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of this party, says that Russia’s place is with “northern civilization, together with the USA, Canada, and the European Union.”

Zhirinovsky asked everyone not to think that his party was following Putin, as if Putin changed his political direction, and then it was also the time for the LPDR to change its direction. Zhirinovsky was talking about it long time ago.

Now “the agents of the Western influence” can join the LDPR if they do not hope to get into the parliament with the help of any other ways. Well, the operation in Afghanistan has shown that the developed Western states can jointly block any sources of barbarism and violence. We are not barbarians, we are referred to the northern civilization. The USA is not one of our enemies. Moreover, in about 20-30 years, Russia and the United States of America “can become one North Atlantic state.” What will Saddam Hussein think? "How can we lose such an ally?" There are lots of questions, but the correct political course has been chosen, and the LDPR never takes a step backward.
