Federation Council speaker visits Yamal-Nenets autonomous area

Russian Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov is making a routine trip over the Yamal-Nenets autonomous area. He is to discuss regional problems with Yamal-Nenets governor and deputies, Mr. Mironov told journalists.

According to governor Yuri Neyelov, he is to show all Yamal social-economic achievements because his area can speed up the development of Russian economy. It possesses richest oil, gas and other natural recourses.

The program of Sergei Mironov's visit includes meetings with local officials, public figures and indigenous people. The speaker is to attend the Shemanovsky museum and exposition center, a national school and an ethnographic complex in Gornoknyazevsk. Moreover, he is to go to the Polar Urals by helicopter and attend a mine and the Kongor-Khrom enterprise. Mr. Mironov will stay in the Yamal-Nenets capital until July 17.
