The amount of investments of the LUKoil oil company in international projects in the refining and sales spheres will be equal to $348m in 2003, which is 2.9 times as much compared to 2002. According to the company's press service these projections were announced at a Board Meeting in Burgas (Bulgaria) today.
In 2003, LUKoil's EBITDA is expected to be close to $250m, which is $50m above the amount of 2002. In general, the company expects its foreign block "Refining and Sales" to show better results this year.
In particular, First Vice President of LUKoil Dmitry Tarasov was quoted as saying that international activities of the "Refining and Sales" business segment were aimed at lowering risks dealing with fluctuations on the national market of oil and oil products. Its main aim is to increase LUKoil's profit through selling refined oil at higher prices in Eastern and Western Europe.
