Russians name Putin 'Person of the Year' again

Russian citizens recognized President Vladimir Putin "The Person of the Year" again, an opinion poll conducted by Public Opinion Fund said.

According to the survey, conducted on December 7-8 in 43 regions of Russia,  100 settlements involving 1,500 respondents, 32 percent of respondents gave Vladimir Putin the first place on the list of Russian politicians and public figures, whom they would call "Person of the Year".

Since last year, Vladimiк Putin's rating has increased by six percent.

The top ten of "persons in 2013" also included Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, head of the Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, leader of Civic Platform Mikhail Prokhorov, Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and others.

On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, its thirty articles enshrining basic and fundamental rights guaranteeing dignity of the human person and equality for all, regardless of race, color, creed or gender. A pipe dream?
