US-Russian Strategic Offensive Reductions Treaty May Be Ratified in State Duma on May 16

The State Duma International Affairs Committee has proposed ratifying the US strategic offensive reductions treaty on May 16. As a Rosbalt correspondent reports, this was announced by Head of the Committee Dmitry Rogozin today. He added that the date for ratifying the treaty would be confirmed by the Duma Council on April 22.

The treaty was supposed to have been ratified at the end of March but the war in Iraq caused a delay in the ratification process.
