Few Russians want to leave Iraq

The number of staff members from Interenergoservice, a Russian company, who want to leave Iraq dropped to 111, the company's director on international projects, Yevgeny Loginov, told RIA Novosti.

Earlier it was reported that 114 Interenergoservice employees were going to leave Iraq, and that 120 people working for the company were expected to fly to Moscow.

"But this number is constantly changing," Mr. Loginov said. "It was 114 in the morning and now it dropped to 111. It may rise and it may fall. That is the psychology of a person: yesterday he wanted to leave Iraq and today he decided to remain there."

The company's employees are expected to arrive at Domodedovo airport in Moscow on Monday, at 6:00 p.m. Representatives of the company's Moscow office are going to meet them.

Interenergoservice has 340 employees working in Iraq. They were offered the chance to return to Russia after one employee was killed and two taken hostage by Iraqi resistance militants last week.
