The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) still has not selected a presidential candidate.
Gennady Zuganov, the KPRF leader, told journalists on Wednesday that KPRF might completely boycott the presidential election or advance their own candidate.
"There are different proposals which range from selecting candidates to a complete boycott," Mr. Zuganov said.
According to him, the congress of the communist party will make the final decision.
Mr. Zuganov noted that the possible presidential candidates included "the central committee chairman and many young promising people who have futures."
