Andrey Cherkasov: Wolf hunting started in Volgograd

Reports about attacks by wolves on cattle and even people in several districts of the Volgograd region have become frequent. This winter must be difficult for wolves, who have considerably increased recently. The winter is very hard not only for wolves but for foxes and other wild animals. What is also important here is that the activity of hunters has also reduced, because hunting is a hard and sometimes even dangerous task. Premiums paid for the extermination of wolves do not cover the costs required. In addition, wolf meat is not edible, and wolf pelts are not in fashion.

Wolves react immediately to the loss of adequate attention. Their population increases and becomes more impudent. Thus, the pressing necessity arises for the struggle against the beasts. The Volgograd regional authorities have already waged a war against wolves, and some results have already been obtained. The wolf population is reducing in some parts of the Volgograd region.
