Tupolev to get large orders for airplane supplies soon

The Russian aircraft producer Tupolev is expecting a few large orders for aircraft supplies to come in the near future. In particular, ten Tu-204-300 airplanes are sought after by the Transaero airline, Tupolev's General Director Igor Shevchuk told RBC. A corresponding contract for supplying four of these aircraft will be signed at the MAKS-2003 international aviation and space show to be held in Zhukovsky, a city in the Moscow region, on August 19 to 24. In addition, according to Shevchuk, the company will sign a contract with the Pulkovo airline for supplying twenty Tu-334 airplanes at the show.

Moreover, Tupolev remains on track to supply the Egyptian company Sirocco with twenty-five Tu-204-120 airplanes stocked with Rolls-Royce engines. The Russian company is also constructing five aircraft for Chinese airlines, the first out of five is due out by the end of 2003.
