YUKOS and Sibneft stock prices drive RTS index higher

YUKOS and Sibneft have been leading the way on the RTS today. During the first hour of trade, these stocks grew 3.3 and 8.9 percent respectively pushing the RTS index up by 0.84 percent to 527.88 points. RAO UES has retained its yesterday positions, whereas stock prices of Rostelecom, Mosenergo and Surgutneftegas have been below yesterday's close.

On MICEX unlike the RTS all blue chips have been floundering in the red. Analysts believe the RTS quotes have been trying to catch up with MICEX gains of August 18. Experts suppose that the Russian stock market in general may be set for a downward correction.
