Each President To Receive Audi A8 in Prague

Rich politicians will be given lovely presents

Another NATO summit is to open in Prague on Thursday. It stands to reason that it will be a big event, indeed. In addition, this meeting is not only an excuse to discuss the latest events or to make more members of the alliance. A NATO summit is also a very good excuse for advertising.

The automobile company Volkswagen (Volkswagen owns the Czech company Skoda) was really lucky in this respect, for instance. This company is going to provide its cars to the foreign guests of the summit. As RIA Novosti informed, the fleet of cars, which are going to be used by the participants of the summit, counts 320 vehicles. These all belong to Volkswagen: 55 armored Audi A8 limos for the leaders of delegations and 171 Skoda Superb cars and 25 Skoda Oktavia cars for foreign and defense ministers. There are also 55 minibuses and 15 Volkswagen LT vehicles as well.

Spokesman for Import Volkswagen Group David Lishka said that all the cars will be given to the guests of the NATO summit free of charge. He added that the only profit that the company will gain from the summit is the following title: the official partner of the NATO summit. Lishka stated that the current summit will also play the role of a public presentation of Volkswagen’s new model, the Audi A8.

Well, as a matter of fact, Mr. Lishka was not really honest being honest regarding profits. World leaders will be advertising Volkswagen’s products for two days running. Volkswagen’s competitors will have nothing else to do but to whip the cat with envy. When the summit finishes, all the cars will be sold. It seems that Volkswagen is not going to suffer any losses from that sweet deal.

Presidents and prime ministers will be given other gifts too. As the press service showed, these will be nice presents. The gifts will include: 50 sets of Czech glasses (decanters and tall wine glasses) plus a bottle of fancy Becherovka liqueur.

Nevertheless, the summit in Prague will be remarkable not only for its little things, but for security measures as well. The Czechs have already restricted air traffic above the territory of the Czech republic. Prague residents will definitely have nerve-racking problems connected with traffic jams in the city. The government promised to restrict traffic in the central streets of Prague as well.

As a matter of fact, events on this scale lead to problems that rarely happened ten years ago. At present, there is a variety of threats coming up, from terrorists to anti-globalist organizations. The countries of the European Union suspend the Shengen Treaty during such top-level meetings. However, this does not help prevent clashes with anti-globalists. One should assume that the anti-globalists will be out in full force.

There is the impression that the organizers of such events are taking more and more efforts to make the events look glorious. One should attract people’s attention to the discussion of vital problems. Yet, the spending on these summits grows, although the problems do not become fewer in their number.
