Moscow helps flood-hit southern regions

Two trains carrying 3,000 tons of goods left Moscow on Saturday for Russia's south. This is Moscow's contribution to the country's effort to help the population of the North Caucasus regions overcome the aftermath of the devastating flood that had recently hit Russia's south.

67 railway cars are full of building materials, medicines, foodstuffs and other necessities.

The humanitarian aid has been donated by the Moscow Government in close collaboration with the city's industrial enterprises, commercial companies and financial organizations. According to Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, Moscow is ready to dispatch a few more trainloads of humanitarian aid to the flood-hit areas.
