Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a regulation on establishing an interagency working group for the implementation of passport and visa documents of a new generation, the press service of the President reported.
The interagency working group was commissioned to create a regulatory and legal basis for the implementation of a state system of producing, issuing and controlling passport and visa documents of a new generation using biometric data. In addition, the group will have to create financial and economic conditions for developing and implementing technologies that are to meet international standards.
