Russia's Muslim journalists unite

The Union of Muslim Journalists was formed in Russia. This decision was taken at the meeting between editors of Muslim media which took place in the residence of the Council of Russia's Muftis in Moscow on Wednesday.

The Union was established to protect the interests of journalists practising Islam or closely connected with Muslim subjects in Russia and abroad.

The participants in the meeting approved of the regulations of the Union of Muslim Journalists and the Ethic Code of a Muslim journalist.

According to the participants, this public organisation will help to consolidate efforts in covering the most important events in the life of Russia's Muslims.

Last week the Club of Orthodox TV and Radio Reporters was set up in Russia.
