Bin Laden pronounced Jihad in 1998

The 64 video tapes in possession of CNN have given a further insight into the al-Qaeda organisation and its infamous leader, Osama Bin Laden, who pronounced a Jihad against the Crisaders, the Jews and the USA in 1998.

“By the grace of God, we have formed with numerous other Islamic groups and organisations from the Islamic world an Islamic Front called International Islamic Front to carry the Jihad against the Crusaders and the Jews”, he declares in one extract.

He went on to claim that the response had been successful and had resulted in the death of US citizens. CNN claims that this video was recorded on 26th May, 1998 in eastern Afghanistan. Bin Laden was flanked by the Egyptian Ayman al-Zawahiri, Al Qaeda’s number two, and Mohammed Atef, Bin Laden’s military advisor who was killed during a bombing raid in Afghanistan in 2001.
