Arsenic level in White Sea is dangerously high

Specialists from the research ship Professor Shtokmann have found extremely high levels of arsenic in the central part of the White Sea. The cause will be identified by carrying out laboratory research. The exact level of arsenic has not been confirmed.

The research expedition had been searching for chemical weapons from the Second World War in the White Sea. According to unofficial sources, after the war the northern shipping fleet deposited unused gas bombs containing mustard gas in the area near the White Sea, the Barents Sea and the Karsk Sea. The sailors involved in the mission agreed to keep it a secret for decades to come.

The next expedition for chemical weapons will be sent to the Karsk Sea. It is scheduled to start on August 30.
