The third international forum of compatriots, entitled Migration and Diasporas: Development Potential of Pacific Russia, has opened in Vladivostok (centre of Primorye, the Far Eastern federal district).
According to the press centre of Primorye, the Pacific forum will seek to promote mutually advantageous co-operation with compatriots living abroad and to involve the potential of Russia's foreign diaspora in the economic and spiritual restoration of Russia.
The participants in the forum are assessing the demographic situation in Russia's Far East and considering prospects of co-operation with compatriots living in the Asia-Pacific region.
The sides will also highlight interaction between state organisations and economic facilities of the Pacific Russia with Russian businessmen abroad.
The forum has gathered scholars, businessmen, politicians, public figures of Russia, the US, China, New Zealand, France, Taiwan and CIS nations.
