Withdrawing Russian Peacemakers from South Osetia not on Agenda

Dmitry Medoyev, the former Minister of External Relations, a deputy of the South Osetian parliament said, 'The withdrawal of Russian peacemaking contingent keeping peace and stability in the unrecognised republic of South Osetia is and will remain out of the question'. The deputy said South Osetian foreign policies concentrated on the preservation of the republic's security. The foremost priority on hand is the strengthening of the armed forces in order to prevent possible invasion from the outside. Mr. Medoyev added that the issue of the independence and international recognition of the republic of South Osetia was off the agenda yet the republic's leadership saw the fitting of it in the system of regional politics as its principal goal.
