LUKoil considers buying 800 gas stations in USA

LUKoil CEO Vagit Alekperov is heading to the USA to discuss the possibility of purchasing 800 gas stations in the southeastern part of the country. Earlier the LUKoil top-management was interested just in the US oil processing market because of difficulties related to the entering of the US gas station market.

The LUKoil management has considered the possibility of supplying oil produced in the Timano-Pechora oilfield to the US. The company cannot begin these supplies before 2006. American and independent experts are currently performing an analysis of Timano-Pechora oil.
