Sibneft wants to buy TNK's stake in Slavneft

Sibneft is again planning to purchase TNK's stake in Slavneft and it is currently negotiating this deal, a source close to the negotiations told RBC. The negotiations are unfolding. The parties are discussing different variants, including an equal division of Slavneft assets, a source said. However, the recent agreement with YUKOS will strengthen Sibneft's positions at the negotiations, the interlocutor believes.

The press service of TNK has confirmed the information that the company is negotiating with Sibneft about this deal. According to its representative, TNK executives and shareholders have not adopted a final decision on this issue yet.

At the same time, the press service of Sibneft refused to comment on this information.
