Admiral Vladimir Kuroedov, the Commander of Russia's Baltic Fleet, has given his approval of the work of the fleet's surface ships and crews, as well as its command centres and battle readiness. He made his assessment on Monday, April 21 onboard the Pylky patrol vessel during an inspection of ships and defences in the Baltic. The admiral was accompanied on his inspection tour by the Baltic Fleet's surface battle command.
According to the Baltic Fleet's press office, Admiral Kuroedov also expressed his contempt for Swedish and Danish reconnaissance vessels which monitored the exercises. He rebuked the vessels for their lack of seafaring etiquette in failing to salute a ship of a higher rank and for their dangerous maneuvers, which he said posed a hazard to the naval exercises.
