Russia's Security Service Anti-terrorist Department head Yuri Sapunov warned on Thursday that Chechen militants were planning "to boost sabotage and terrorism activities in summer" in North Caucasus, reports RIA Novosti. According to the anti-terror official, the militants need to prove their efficiency to international emissaries and financiers.
Mr. Sapunov also informed about the exposing of conspiring groups from the Hizb ut-Tahrir extremist organization, which were operating in the Moscow region. RIA Novosti cites his words that since 2000, Russia's special services have registered members of the terrorist organizations Moslem Brothers, Hizb ut-Tahrir and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan. Grassroots jihadi groups of these organizations in 50 districts of the country.
