Federal Constitutional Court To Put Off Yakut Presidential Poll?

The federal Constitutional Court will appeal to the top Yakut legislature to postpone an upcoming republican presidential election in case the court accepts for consideration a related interpolation from Yakutia's Supreme Court, Tamara Morschakova, Constitutional Court vice-president, said to a news conference in Moscow. The republican Supreme Court inquired, November 12, about the incumbent competent for nomination for a presidential poll, due December 23. The federal Supreme Court abrogated a republican Supreme Court ruling, November 20. The ruling suspended consideration of a public appeal against incumbent Mikhail Nikolayev nominated for a third presidential term--an issue on which the republican court made its inquiry with the federal Constitutional Court. The federal Supreme Court ordered to its republican analogue to consider the issue within five days.
