Scientific Research Centre to Be Set up at Gorny Chemical Weapons Disposal Plant

A scientific centre will be created at the chemical weapons disposal plant in the village of Gorny, the Saratov Region. Governor Dmitry Ayatskov said the academic centre was necessary because the region was among the leaders in chemical production and now also in chemical weapons disposal. The Governor also said that the village was about to become an academic campus.

Mr. Ayatskov informed that after all the chemical weapons and poisonous substances were destroyed, the plant would be converted. 'We need to get reed', Governor said, 'of all the pesticides, herbicides, and other poisons identified as the sources of danger, which now rot at many agricultural warehouses. The governor plans to very soon have highly qualified personnel trained at the academic campus in the village of Gorny.
