Moscow-Vladivostok motor race end on Pacific shore

The racers taking part in the Moscow-Vladivostok motor race reached the finish Monday on the Pacific shore.

The jury of 18 motorist journalist of the popular Russian Za Rulyom magazine appeared on the Central Square of Vladivostok to the applause of the local fans at noon, local time (05:00 a.m., Moscow Time).

The motor race had started in Moscow on August 2nd from the symbolic "zero kilometer" near the Kremlin. The racers have covered over 10,000 kilometers, having crossed nearly all Russia from west to east.

The chief purpose of the race was to demonstrate new cars that are little known to people in Siberia and the Far East.

Taking part in the race were well-known foreign cars assembled in Russia - Chevrolet-Niva, Ford-Focus, Hyundai-Accent, Renault-Symbol, KIA-2700, and also an 4x4 model built on the basis of the VAZ-21113.

More than 5.8 million people voted for Nicholas Maduro at the presidential election in Venezuela. This is more than a quarter of registered voters. Why did those people vote for the man, who, as Western media write, took Venezuela to the brink of collapse?
