Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov suggests assistance in Palestine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov hosted his Palestinian counterpart, Nasser Al Kidwa, on Thursday for talks on Russian assistance.

"Palestinian-Israeli relations have entered a very important stage and Russia wants to do everything possible to settle the situation," Lavrov told Al Kidwa, according to the Interfax news agency.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said the question of training Palestinians in Russia was on the agenda, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported. He said Russia would continue helping the Palestinians in their efforts to achieve statehood and implement reforms, as well as to solve social and economic problems.
