Dairy farms in Nizhny Novgorod to receive over 200 million for development

The federal government will allocate funds to the Nizhny Novgorod region under the new program to maintain dairy farming. The program has been in effect in the region for three years already. During this time, more than 70 percent of livestock facilities have been updated.

Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor Valery Shantsev had signed a decree regulating the procedure to allocate the funds to be received from the federal budget as part of the new federal program to support dairy farming.

According to the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, this year, the Nizhny Novgorod region will receive 232.5 million rubles. The farmers, who provided reports on their financial and economic situation, and signed an agreement on cooperation with the local government in the absence of arrears to the regional budget, will receive financial assistance within the scope of the program.

Today, every liter of milk brings two rubles to dairy companies. Due to the  modernization of the farming livestock, dairy farms will receive an additional subsidy of one ruble per liter of milk sold. For reconstruction, there will be two extra rubles paid, and for new construction - three rubles.

As many as 468 livestock facilities have been built, reconstruct and modernize for three years.
