Communist Party of the Russian Federation carries out purge of its ranks

As presumed, at the plenary session of the Communist Party’s Central Committee, State Duma deputies Gennady Seleznev, Svetlana Goryacheva, and Nikolai Gubenko have been kicked out of the party. A roll-call vote was carried out, while the opinion on every candidate was different. Twenty-five delegates voted against the exclusion of Gennady Seleznev, 36 delegates voted against exclusion of Svetlana Goryacheva, and 38 delegates tried to retain Nikolai Gebenko’s membership in the party. However, in all the tree cases, the majority supported the resolution of the Central Committee’s Presidium. The three were also excluded from the CPRF faction. As planned, it was decided to start the procedure of a vote of no-confidence regarding the government.
