Exercises on eliminating consequences of accident while transporting nuclear waste finished in Siberia

Three-day exercises on eliminating the consequences of a railway accident while transporting nuclear waste finished on Friday near Krasnoyarsk, West Siberia.

About 350 experts from the Russian nuclear energy ministry and the emergency ministry's special departments, as well as railway workers, doctors, firemen and representatives of other services took part in the exercises.

Commander of the exercises Yury Revenko, chief engineer of the Zheleznogorsk mining-chemical plant, and the nuclear energy ministry's representatives gave a "high assessment" of the efficient work of all the departments and services, the plant's press service said to RIA Novosti.

A new batch of nuclear waste was delivered to the plant's storage on June 27th. Several more loads will be sent here via the railway before the end of the year, according to the press service.
