Russia's well-known pediatrician, Leonid Roshal, has received numerous honors and awards such as the Order of Courage, "Russian of the Year" (2004), "Doctor of the world" and in 2007 he was officially nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. A star in the constellation of Taurus was named after the doctor.The Director of the Research Institute of Emergent Children's Surgery and Traumatology of Moscow, Leonid Roshal, has recently celebrated his 80th anniversary. Mr. Roshal was awarded with the Medal of Honor, according to the decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Last week, on April 27th, Roshal celebrated his 80-year anniversary. Congratulating the outstanding doctor, President Vladimir Putin called him a persona of unique scale. For many decades, Leonid Roshal treats children and helps them by taking part in emergency situations such as earthquakes, man-made disasters and armed conflicts in many countries.
Roshal acted as a mediator in negotiations with terrorists in Beslan, as well during the hostage crisis at the Moscow music theater.
