The question of ratifying the Kyoto Protocol will be decided in a way that reflects Russia's national interests, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared today at the opening of the World Conference on Climate Change, Rosbalt reported.
He acknowledged that Russia was being pressed to speed ratification and said the government was considering the matter. 'The decision will be made when our study of the matter is complete,' Putin said. He also noted the high quality, promise and international recognition of Russian climatologists.
