Vladimir Putin Assigns Tasks To His Envoys To Federal Districts

Vladimir Putin has tasked his envoys to the federal districts with focusing on the delimitation of powers between federal centre and districts. The Russian president, when opening his meeting with presidential envoys Monday, called attention to the fact that at the previous meeting agreement was reached to continue putting regional legislation in order. Putin asked the envoys to inform him of preparations for winter in the regions and also what the population thinks of judicial and pension reforms, as well as a recently adopted land code. The head of state stressed the need for informing the population in the regions of major decisions adopted by the cabinet and the State Duma. According to him, it is necessary "to arrange a feedback" for federal authorities to know what raises concerns in civil society and how it perceives what the government offers. What is more, the president emphasised it necessary "to understand the efficacy of the feedback mechanism in decision implementation, too." Putin recalled that the State Duma recently passed "important decisions on land relations". On the home stretch now, according to him, are the judicial reform and work is proceeding on laws dealing with a pension reform. As regards preparations for winter, the president said he wanted to know what his envoys thought of the present state of housing and communal services. The president emphasised that he wanted to hear from those present what needs to be done to prevent mishaps in this area.
