Experts on LUKoil's future

LUKoil will benefit strategically from a large investor with new corporate culture, Vladimir Milov, the President of the Institute of Energy Policy, told RBC TV. According to him, if ConocoPhillips increases its stake LUKoil (7 percent of the shares is not enough to influence the company's strategy and development), LUKoil will benefit from ConocoPhillips' corporate culture, business standards and international strategy. It is very difficult to find an investor who is ready to spend this amount of money on a stake that does not allow him to influence the future of such a big company as LUKoil, he said.

At the same time, Milov pointed out that there were two positive consequences for ConocoPhillips at present. Firstly, this is the first step towards increasing its stake in LUKoil. Secondly, now, ConocoPhillips can officially participate in the company's management and primarily in the Board of Directors.
