On Saturday, a wandering bear attacked two people in the taiga, three kilometers away from the village of Petrovichi, Khabarovsk territory, reported the press service of the local interior office.
According to the press service, the attack was quick and unexpected. One of the two men suffered heavy injuries and later died in hospital.
Experts say the bear had probably been wounded by a hunter.
