6,000 items considered as relief items have been approved by the 661 Committee of the UNO for distribution inside Iraq.
The Committee, which was set up by the UN Security Council to monitor sanctions against Iraq, decided to approve 6,000 items for fast-track distribution inside Iraq on Monday. These items include all food items procured inside Iraq for the monthly food basket, basic medicines, supplies and consumables such as raw materials for the production of medicine, furniture, paper, educational supplies, clothing, seeds, fertilisers and construction materials.
