The absence of the strong opponents will not put in doubt the predicted victory of Vladimir Putin at the presidential elections, scheduled for March 14th, believe leading political scientists from Open Forum club.
"I see no catastrophe that one of the candidates is stronger than others. I'm sure this fact will not put in doubt the cogency of Vladimir Putin's victory," President of foundation Politics Vyacheslav Nikonov told journalists.
At present only Vladimir Putin, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky and businessman German Sterligov stated their intentions to run for the Presidential seat, meanwhile liberal parties did not nominate their candidates.
"Putin has an open position - he emerges and challenges his opponents. It would have been a great opportunity for any liberal politician to gain points," Head of the Foundation of Effective Politics Gleb Pavlovsky said.
"The victory over the weak opponent will not devaluate Vladimir Putin's achievement in the eyes of the world society. The whole world is sure of Vladimir Putin's victory," President of the Political Technologies Center Igor Bunin said.
Most of the Russian experts confident that the electoral turnout will be 59-70 percent.
