The weighted average dollar exchange rate on tomorrow deals amounted to 28.90 RUR/USD at this afternoon's special session. The high on deals leapt to 28.95 RUR/USD. This is RUR0.02 and RUR0.07 higher than the official dollar exchange rate set by the Russian Central Bank for April 30. Thus, the ruble's sliding continues at the UTS.
The lack of ruble liquidity does not prevent the dollar from strengthening. Traders are actively buying US currency and the trade volume is growing at a higher pace compared to this morning. The trade volume reached over $130 as of 3:00 p.m.
