The Russian-Georgian trade volume grew by 17 per cent during 5 months of 2002, said Russian minister of industry, science and technology Ilya Klebanov to RIA Novosti. He commented on the results of the session of the Russian-Georgian committee on economic cooperation held on July 4-5.
The minister did not give the exact figures of the trade volume, saying that they still were quite moderate, but stressed that "the Russian-Georgian dialog in the economic sphere has succeeded".
After the session the committee signed three documents, Klebanov said. They are an agreement on Russian-Georgian cooperation in tourism, an agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the North Ossetian republic and the Georgian Fkheta-Mtianet district, as well as a protocol of the committee's 5th session.
