The Bank of Russia will issue on November 11th 2002 a commemorative coin minted with precious metals as part of its Signs of the Zodiac series. The Central Bank's PR department disclosed this information today.
A two-ruble silver coin will be released with a precious metal mass of 15.55 grammes and the hallmark 925. There will also be a gold 25-ruble coin with a precious metal mass of 3.11 grammes and the hallmark 999.
The silver coin's diameter will be 33.0 mm, while the golden coin will measure 16.0 mm.
The reverse will feature an image of a centaur shooting a bow and arrow, while the right will be embellished with the Sagittarius constellation.
Twenty thousand silver coins and 50,000 gold ones will be minted and will enter circulation.
The coins will be legal tender in the Russian Federation.
