Aeroflot Makes USD 74 Million Profit in 2002

Aeroflot made a net profit of USD 74 million in 2002 according to Russian accounting standards. The airline's press office today revealed that its income in 2002 increased by 3.5% to USD 1.448 billion. In 2002, Aeroflot carried 5.49 million passengers, and 109.9 thousand tonnes of post and freight. The company paid a total of 3.2 billion roubles (USD 100 million) in taxes in 2002. However, the press office noted that final results for the year would be compiled later.

Aeroflot - Russian Airlines was registered in 1994. Its share capital is currently worth 1,110,616,299 roubles (USD 34.93 million), with each share worth 1 rouble (USD 0.03). 51.17% of the company's shares are owned by the government.
