Aeroflot case to resume today

Today one of the Moscow municipal courts will continue hearing the criminalcase against former Aeroflot executives. An attorney of Andrey Borovkovtold RBC that the court took a break until September 9 to consider anappeal filed by Nikolay Glushkov, the main defendant in the Aeroflot case.The former Aeroflot deputy general director asks the court to dismiss anumber of documents that were seized during a raid at the premises of ZAOFOK in 1999. Roman Sheinin, the head of this company, is accused of fraud and theembezzlement of Aeroflot's money. Glushkov maintains that the GeneralProsecutor's Office seized the documents with the violation of law. Anotherformer Aeroflot general director Alexander Krasnenker and Aeroflot chiefaccountant Likiya Kryzhevskaya are also charged with fraud and withdrawalof currency assets abroad. Glushkov is standing trial on charges of moneylaundering and breach of prison. His three aides are being accused asGlushkov's accomplices in the jailbreak. These four are currently kept incustody..
