Rosnet to develop telecommunications network for State Customs Committee

The Russian Telecommunications Network (Rosnet) has started the systemproject aimed at developing an integrated telecommunications network forthe central customs department of the Russian State Customs Committee. TheRosnet press service reported that the telecommunications network withintegrated services would be targeted at providing all needed sorts ofcommunications (voice, data and so on) between various divisions within thecentral customs department, such as customs posts, storage facilities,offices, etc. in regions of Russia.On August 28, 2002, the tender committee of the central customs departmentannounced Rosneft the winner of the open tender for the development of theintegrated telecommunications network. According to the terms of thetender, Rosnet will develop the network for the State Customs Committee inthe central federal district of Russia..
