Russian oil export grew by 15.4% in first five months of 2002

The volume of Russian oil export increased by 15.4% to 73.6m tons in January-May 2002, a representative of the State Customs Committee reported to RBC. The amount of oil supplies in the first five months of this year reached $9.76bn, exceeding that of the corresponding period of 2001 by 5.2%.

Of that volume, 59.25m tons of oil were supplied to non-CIS countries (a 6.2% growth compared to the corresponding figure for the first five months of 2001), totaling $8.64bn (a 6.8% decrease). The volume of oil supplies to the CIS reached 14.3m tons (a 79.1% increase), totaling $1.12bn (an 8.3% rise).
